About the event:

This is a free event open to everyone. The event will explore what are the issues surrounding the Trans, Non-Binary and Gender Diverse community and HIV.

The session will feature talks from prominent Trans, Non-Binary and Gender Diverse campaigners, and be chaired by Stephen Doughty MP.

Panellists:

  • Max Appenroth - Max is a trans activist and diversity consultant from Berlin. Max is currently doing their PhD at the Institute of Public Health at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. They are the coordinator of the Trans Men & Working Group for the international oragnization GATE - Global Action for Trans Equality.

  • Michelle Ross - Co-founder of cliniQ and Director of Holistic Wellbeing Services, with an overview of how our services work holistically for our clients, and she is the lead on our training programme. Michelle is a BACP accredited psychotherapist and has been involved with sexual health, HIV & well-being for over 30 years. Michelle is a member of IRGT: A Global Network of Trans Women advocating for trans issues in the international HIV response.

  • Erika Castellanos - Erika is a trans and HIV activist from Belize residing in the Netherlands. Erika is currently the Director of Programs at Global Action for trans* Equality and serves as Board Member for the Communities Delegation in the Board of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

  • Eli Fitzgerald - Eli is a trans man living with HIV. He is a human rights activist and campaigner, for transgender people and for people living with HIV.

  • Dr. Kate Z. Nambiar - Is a specialty Doctor in Endocrinology, Gender Identity Clinic, Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust and Specialty Doctor in Sexual Health & HIV Medicine, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.
