DATA PROTECTION PRIVACY NOTICE

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT+ Rights (‘the APPG’) processes your personal data for the purposes of maintaining and using a membership and mailing list, keeping minutes of meetings, email communications from our members or the public and research purposes.

Data we may obtain and process 

The data which we may obtain from you and process is: 

  • Your name, title and email address; 

  • Your phone number (if applicable);  

  • Your role and/or the organisation that you work for (if any);  

We use this information to send you information about the APPG and its work, including meeting notices and minutes.  

Please note that under the rules which Parliament has set for APPGs, the names of APPG members (but not their contact details) may be published on the group’s website or else provided to enquirers on request. 

 

If applicable:  

We may also record personal information about you, including your opinions, sexual orientation, gender and religious believes: 

  • as minutes of meetings; 

  • part of handling your correspondence;  

  • when you disclose to us your experiences, health or personal circumstances as part of your correspondence or work; or 

  • for research purposes.  

Our lawful basis for using this information is Article 6(1)(f) General Data Protection Regulation and where appropriate Article 6(1)(a). 

“(f) Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party, unless there is a good reason to protect the individual’s personal data which overrides those legitimate interests.” 

“(a) Consent: the individual has given clear consent for you to process their personal data for a specific purpose.” 

 

We will hold this information securely and we will keep this information for five years. 

 

We will share this personal data only with our contracted data processor, the APPG’s Researcher and Coordinator, Anna Robinson, from the Kaleidoscope Trust. This organisation is contracted to provide membership administration/a secretariat for the APPG. We will not transfer this personal data to any other organisation or person without your express consent and only ever for the purpose of the APPG’s work.
